As Women’s History Month ends, we would like to offer you a few e-books and e-audiobooks about intrepid, adventurous women who traveled for the sheer joy of doing something different, to escape from others, to see the world, or to take on a challenge. Some of them struck out on their own, some traveled with other women, and some with men. Not all of them were likable characters, in fact one or two were downright self-absorbed, and got into scrapes that inconvenienced others. There were one or more whose thoughts and ideas about the people and places visited will seem absurd compared to the way we think. They did venture forth, and for now, it is not possible for most of us to get out for a bit of food. Therefore, sit back, be an armchair traveler with women, whose travels might inspire you to hit the road at a future date.
