If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times—the book was better! There's nothing like debating the differences between a favorite book and its translation to the screen. But if you don't know your beloved series is coming out as a movie, or that the fun looking preview you saw was adapted from a book, how can you join the debate? The library is here to the rescue! Here we will be exploring the movie adaptations soon to hit screens big and small and give you the chance to read before you view.

The newest adaptation of this classic title will star the voice talents of Zachary Levi and Zooey Deschanel and premiere on the big screen on June 30, 2023.

Based on the short story The Boogeyman, collected within Stephen King’s work The Night Shift, the film adaptation of this spooky tale will hit theaters on June 2, 2023.

In 2014, Marvel Comics began a series of Spiderman comics called Spider-Verse, the story of multiple alternative versions of Spiderman living in different universes, brought together by the attack of the supervillain Morlun and his family the Inheritors. As the various Spidermen band together to survive, they must contend not only with the evil Morlun but their own conflicting pasts. The newest animated adaptation Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse is a sequel to the 2019 film Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse and will be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.
