If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times—the book was better! There's nothing like debating the differences between a favorite book and its translation to the screen. But if you don't know your beloved series is coming out as a movie or that the fun-looking preview you saw was adapted from a book, how can you join the debate? The Library is here to the rescue! Here, we will be exploring the movie adaptations soon to hit screens big and small and give you the chance to read before you view.

Struggling under the weight of motherhood and with her husband away on frequent work trips, a woman finds herself mysteriously transforming. It starts with an odd patch of hair, surprisingly sharper canines and then there are the disturbing cravings. Desperate to find an answer to this strange change, she discovers a mommy group that is more than it seems. The film adaptation of Rachel Yoder’s darkly comic Nightbitch will star Amy Adams and premiere on December 6, 2024.


After 20 years away fighting in the Trojan War, Odysseus returns to find his wife Penelope beset by aggressive suitors who seek to take his place and rule as king of Ithaca. Pretending to be a humble beggar, Odysseus plots to thwart the suitors and reclaim his throne. Starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche, the latest film adaptation of Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey will premiere on December 6, 2024.
